1. Choose a powerful image and hav e students try to guess the story through who, what, when, where, why, and how questions.
2. Tell your class story.
3. Choose a photo that seems compelling to you or that otherwise fits with a unit you’re teaching. After you've been doing it awhile have the student of the week choose a photo.
- present the photo to the class and launch right into a discussion of the issues presented,
- play Guess the Situation, a game that requires students to guess what the story is behind the photo as well as any complementary socio-political contributing factors.
